6 Tahun Lalu: Mbah Marijan Ditemukan Tewas Sambil Bersujud Akibat Letusan Merapi

6 Tahun lalu, tepatnya 26 Oktober 2010, terjadi bencana alam yang maha dasyat. Gunung Merapi yang terletak di perbatasan Jogjakarta dan Jawa Tengah meletus dan mengakibatkan banyak kerugian, baik itu korban meninggal atau pun korban material. 

Aktivitas seismiknya tercatat mulai akhir September 2010, sebelum berujung pada letusan yang diiringi keluarnya awan panas.
Sedikitnya tiga letusan sempat terjadi pada hari itu, yang menyemburkan material vulkanik setinggi kurang lebih 1,5 kilometer.
Bencana alam ini menewaskan sekitar 353 orang dan termasuk di antaranya adalah juru kunci Hamengkubuwana IX, Mbah Marijan.
Mbah Marijan ditemukan tewas dalam posisi bersujud, setelah menolak untuk meninggalkan rumahnya yang tak jauh dari kaki gunung Merapi.
Menurut Mbah Marijan, sudah sepantasnya sebagai juru kunci gunung tersebut untuk tetap bertahan di dekat Merapi.
