Salah satu yang cukup mengkhawatirkan adalah kualitas para pengikut baru Twitter. Ulanoff mengaku hampir setiap hari ia mendapatkan spam dan konten porno yang melintas di Twitter-nya. Para penggunanya juga sering mengalami pembajakan akun. Ulanoff menilai sang CEO Jack Dorsey telah gagal mengubah Twitter menjadi tempat yang benar-benar aman bagi penggunanya.

Ditambah lagi dengan kemerosotan pertumbuhan pengguna, para pemegang saham pun mulai meragukan masa depan pendapatan Twitter. Sejumlah perusahaan dikabarkan berencana untuk mengakuisisi media sosial tersebut.
